More than 150 guests and local dignitaries helped Al Molo, Weymouth’s Italian Fine Dining restaurant in the historic and iconic art deco pier bandstand celebrate its first birthday and raise over £600 for Arundawn Dog Rescue.

The large number of guests were treated to a selection of tasty treats whipped up by Head Chef and Director Giuseppe Vannucci. Prestige local drinks producers Black Cow Vodka of Beaminster and Conkers Spirit from Southbourne made cocktails with their locally made vodka and gin for all to enjoy. Guest of honour and star of the night was Dillon’s, Giuseppe and Tim’s two year old English Bull Terrier. Dillon is from Arundawn Dog Rescue, it’s a charity very close to Giuseppe and Tim’s heart, two of their four dogs have come from there.

Giuseppe Vannucci says “It has been an amazing first year, the people of Weymouth have welcomed us with open arms and have helped champion the restaurant and taken us from strength to strength. When we first came to Weymouth we fell in love with the place and it looks like Weymouth has fallen in love with us too.”

Tim Newton says “We were overwhelmed by peoples generosity on the night. They helped us to raise over £600 in a couple of hours, it just goes to show how generous the people of Weymouth are. Arundawn Dog Rescue is a special Charity for us as our dog Dillon came from there. Elaine Barter does a fantastic job and we just wanted to say thank you for all the good work she does”

Al Molo opened in March of 2015 in Weymouth’s beautiful art deco Pier Bandstand. Al Molo is a fine dining Italian restaurant created by Giuseppe Vannucci and his partner Tim Newton. Giuseppe is from the northern Italian region of Emilia Romagna and this beautiful region is the inspiration for Al Molo’s authentic Italian menu. Since its launch in March 2015 Al Molo has already achieved national recognition from the Italian Chamber Of Commerce with the “Marchio Ospitalità Italiana” seal of quality being awarded to it in the summer.
